Rebecca Bartow

Rebecca Bartow – Bartow Photography

A native Oregonian with an unyielding passion for birds, Rebecca has dedicated her craft to capturing the beauty of wildlife with minimal intrusion. Preferring to blend seamlessly into nature rather than disrupt it, she relies on super zoom cameras to document fleeting moments without disturbing her subjects. Her approach is rooted in patience, respect, and a deep appreciation for the untamed world. Whether in the misty forests of the Pacific Northwest or along remote areas of distant states, Rebecca strives to tell nature’s stories through the lens—one frame at a time.

After a home town watercolor class I was hooked. I’m always looking for scenes with light and shadows. Combined with details, that my passion.!

I’m originally from Colorado, but have been living in Florence Oregon for the past 19 years. I’m retired now after owning a coffee shop and gallery for 19 years. I spend my days walking my dog and painting, I do wheel throwing pottery, mosaics and quilting.

I grew up in a wonderfully dysfunctional family in New York City. With much diligence and hard work, I attended college and graduated as a philosophy major. I later moved to Los Angeles, and without any formal training in film making, I managed to have a successful career as a television editor, even winning multiple Emmy Awards.

Some artists are professionals, others pursue a hobby while others pick up a paint brush, camera or other device in order to escape the rigors of every day life and find an inner voice. No matter the reason, let’s endeavor to support one another to become our best artist ever.
