After developing an interest in art at an early age, I studied Fine Art at Indiana University of PA. I have worked as a graphic designer, painter, photographer, and illustrator in Oregon for over 30 years.
I am a member of The Oil Painters of America, and The American Impressionist Society.
My work is often narrative in nature. I am drawn to paint subjects that evoke in the viewer a sense of connection, that have a story to tell, and hint at a shared common experience.
I use light and shadow in the composition, and design it in a way that energy flows through the scene to create a feeling of depth and dimension.
People often tell me they feel as if they can walk right into my paintings.
With the use of color and value changes, I create atmospheric perspective that supports this design of the painting.
